GIRL SCOUTS Two years ago the Louisville-Deltlolay C'0I1ll11Z1!1ill'l'y organized and sponsored a Brownie Troop in Cottage 5. Mis. George Booher and Mrs. R. M. Burger are the co-leaders of this Girl Scout Troop. No. 24. They are doing a grand j-ob in molding the characters of our young girls. Our Boy Scout Troop. No. 112. was organized and sponsored by St. George Lodge No. 239 in October 1949. Their charter expired in October 1953. at which time Cres- cent Hill Lodge No. 820 assumed the sponsorship of the troop. Mr. A. D. Shelburne. Kilwinning L-odge No. 506. is the Scout Master. He deserves much praise as he strives to help our boys Be Prepared. These two organizations mean much to our girls and boys. BOY SCOIQTS 51 if Alix 1 I '-

Our chaplain. Rev. C. C. Newsome, is the spirit- ual counselor on our cam- pus. We have three out- lets for Christian training and our spiritual needs. They are church. Sunday School. and Christian En- deavor. Our church service is sponsored each week by a different l o d g e , W h 0 either brings a visiting preacher or asks our chaplain to br i n g th e morning message. Our Sunday School has improved. under the lead' ership of our loyal Sun- day School Superintend- ent, Mr. Dan Owsley. CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOR Each Wednesday night at six o'c1ock. one would find many high school hoys and girls gathered for an hour of worship. The Christian Endeavor sponsor. Mr. Carter. has been very interesting this year. Through his guid- ance. we have obtained m o r c knowledge of the Bible. At each Christian En' deavor meeting we had a new member. a fact that was very encouraging. pn, Tv 931 PIRIT AL LIFE
