Martin Nowack URCHE TRA Our orchestra has grown this year. with the addition ot' seven new members. We have been busy pre- paring several programs and playing for pure fun. too. The highlights of our years activities were these Programs: HARRY R. KENDALL LODGE NO. 750: We were proud to honor Mr. Kendall. who has been so generous in his support of the music department as a whole. and especially of the orchestra, Our gratitude to him will be lifelong. for we will proiit from our musical background as long as we live. GRAND LODGE AND GRAND CHAPTER: We worked hard and long during the first part of the school year in order to be ready for our part in these two programs. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: After Grand Chapter was over. we worked on the music for the Christ- mas program. The orchestra and the chorus played and sang together in one ot' the numbers for this program. NELSON COUNTY LODGES: The Nelson County Lodges invited us to plav for their homecoming in Boston. Kentuckv. in February. All of us enjoyed the out-of-town visit. PLAYING FOR HARRY R. We were almost rushed tor time from the first days ot' school until Christmas. for we had fix e important programs to prepare: the Grand Lodge and Grand Chapter programs: a program tor the annual banquet ot' the Masonic Home Lodge 940: a thirty-minute progzram of Christmas music. presented at the Christmas meeting of the MacDowell Federated Music Club. at the Brown Hotel: and our Christmas program :it school for Suburban Social Club. We were still working hard after Christmas too, In February we went with the -orchestra to Boston and san L X . added some square dancing to our singing. and all oi' us enjoyed that, Most ol' the special music for our Sunday services was provided by the chorus as a group or by different members or smaller groups in the chorus We feel th'it g for the Nelson County' Lodges In this program we our contribution to the worship services was a blessinfl to us. and we hope that it was a blessing to others.
