PRUPHECY Masonic Home, Ky.. May 28. 1964. Dear William. We were very glad to hear from you and wc are sorry that you couldn't be here for the dedication of our new swimming pool. We feel very proud to have a classmate in Paris studying art. and we are sorry that we cannot be there with you. Betty Blanton, who is the private secretary of Billy R. Fortner tthe successor of J. Edgar Hooverl. came down for the dedication. She is still as pretty as ever and we were all glad to see her. The plans for the new swimming pool were drawn by none other than Robert Barker. who has become the chief architect of the Barker Construction Company. He is very successful and we are proud to claim him as a former classmate. We were glad Shirley Southard could take time out from her television rehearsals and pro- grams long enough to come down for the dedication. As you know, she has become a very success- ful comedienne and we are justly proud of her. We didn't expect Bennie Rogers. the head basketball coach of U. of K.. to come because of his full schedule. But he took time out and came down anyway. Jean Barker. his attractive wife. came with him. We were very glad to see both of them. Phyllis Jarvis is now a home economics teacher in her home town. Olive Hill. Kentucky. She is married now and has two children. We were glad that she and her family could come. Jean Stepp also came. As you know, she is now married to a football player. Her wish has been three-fifths fulfiled. She has three boys and wants two more. Randall Harper is now chief electric en- f' Q gineer at General Electric and his time is limited. I guess you know he is married to I Janice Jackson. They are very happy to- gether. Janice completed nurses' training and was head nurse at Johns Hopkin's Hos- pital in Baltimore, but gave up her job after she married. Now her favorite and only patient is Randall. Peggy Hall is now a photographer for Life Magazine. She was very busy but found time to come to the dedication. She took some very good pictures that day. Oh! By the way, we saw some of your pictures in an Esquire Magazine. Thcy were very good. Your former classmates, PEGGY HALL. JANICE JACKSON.

POEM CLASS WILL Superintendent, Principal, Teachers. and Friends-Upon behalf of the senior class of 1954 of Masonic High School of the City of Louisville, I have called you together upon this solemn and serious occasion, to listen to our last will and testament, and to receive from us the few gifts we have to bestow in our last moments as students of Masonic High. To the juniors we leave our wads of chewing gum that once did animate our own enjoying jawsg our old seats with tacks that tore our clothesg our old books with and all the knowledge we failed to learn. To the sophomores we leave our quick wits, rapid out having to make up double for the lost time. To the high school infants lfreshmenl we leave science, math, and all those studies which are beyond To our beloved principal, Aunt Laura , we leave caps, belts, knives, fountain pens, pencils, lipsticks, and past months. most of the leaves loose or gone: all the mistakes we made: education, and best of all, our ability to play hooky with- our utmost sympathy and our ability to absorb English. the comprehension of their undeveloped mental capacities, our undying love and affection. We also leave all the old ragged books that she has so jealously guarded for the To the teachers we would give the seats we've left, that they may gaze upon them with regret. Robert Barker leaves his title of Beak to Bennie Lee King in hopes that he will live up to the good name. Bett Jean Blanton leaves her shorthand book and her ability to write shorthand to any one in next year's Y class who will use it. William Clay leaves his good looks, his brain, and his secret business to his brothers, Hudson and Jordan. saying, Now watch it, you guys, and don't get caught with the goods. Peggy Hall leaves in hopes that her little brothers and sisters will grow up to get along with every one just as she did, and leaves her dreams of Jim to Allene Wade and her ability to think to any one who needs it. Randall Harper leaves . . . Oh, no! He's taking Janice with him-poor kid. Janice Jackson leaves her vitamin pills to Kay Jarvis because they didn't do her any good. Take one a day, Kay. Phyllis Jarvis leaves Edward Campbell to Dottie, as Phyllis did. What is all the shouting about? Bennie Rogers is Jean Barker. her sister. hoping that she will take good care of him finally leaving, but he is still keeping close range on Shirley Southard leaves her ability to sing to Jackie Hall and Goldie Peters and hopes that they will be on TV some day. Jean Stepp leaves Jackie Shelton to Frances Shepherd. After all. that is where she got him. BETTY BLANTON RANDALL HARPER CHRISTMAS PARTY -- DECEMBER 16 Our high school days are over. lt's time to heave a sigh, To raise a cheer, conceal a tear. And bid the gang good-bye. Our high school days behind, Now each of us departs, With memories of you, Dear Schoolmates, in our hearts. Good-bye, dear friends, a fond farewell We bid each one of you, But you will be within our hearts Forever. Now adieu. The time has come when we must part: Our senior year has passed.
