DEDICATION HELGEY E. ANDERSON, mathematics and algebra teacher, is retiring this year after for many years doing more than his part in helping to make the name of Mason Junior High School an outstanding one among the schools of Tacoma. Andy2 as he has been called by his friends, first came to Mason in 1927 to teach business training and commercial arithmetic. From that time on he has affectionately guided hundreds of students through the courses of many mathematical subjects, as well as acquainting as many others with the intricate x's and y's of algebra. Mr. Anderson has brought honor to Mason by his election to Phi Delta Kappa, national educational honorary society, and through his work in the community as a member of the Kiwanis Club and of the Mason Methodist Church choir. With his retirement, Mason is losing an inspiring teacher who made himself a personal friend to every student. Because of the deep devotion he has felt for Mason, and because we wish to express our gratitude for all that he has done for our school, we respectfully dedicate this 1958 MASONIAN to Mr. HELGEY E. ANDERSON. 3
