Football Banquet Honors Individuals I The Football Banquet for the 1977 Season was, in its way, unique. This year saw the end of Head Coach Melvin Burns's coaching career here at Mason High School. Everyone held special memories of Coach Burns,and his farewell speech touched all those present, His devotedness will linger on, even though he may be gone. Individuals were honored during the proceedings. Terry Moehle was named Mr. football, Outstanding Lineman, and also received the Most- Tackles Award. Bobby Tatsch re- ceived the Player-Coach Award and Lee Henrich was named Outstanding Back. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Loeffler were presented with gifts for their unending support of the Punchers. Miss Susan Wilkinson, Pep Squad sponsor, and Mrs. Linda Graham re- ceived gifts for their help from the Pep Squad. The Pep Squad also presented L lohnna Lynn Bierschwale with the Spirit Award. lunior Varsity Coach ler- ry Parker received a plaque from his football players, and Head Coach Melvin Burns received two gifts. FTA Ends With cz Splash The Future Teachers of America had their annual picnic on May 1, 1978, at the home of Eddie Wilks. After a refreshing swim, a hamburger supper was served. Mr. Billy Mikeska, science teacher at Mason High School, spoke to the mem- bers about his teaching career.
