704421 7044 BRENDA GRIMSLEY daughter of Mr and Mrs B F Grimsley, is the january Student of the Month Brenda IS a senior and IS one of the outstanding stu dents of Mason High having contributed much to the school and 1tS activities Last year Brenda was chosen by the student body as the most beautiful girl 1n school She worked on the armual staff and was a Junior student council repre sentative Last spring she attended the Student Brenda is secretary of the Student Council Brenda has been in the band for four years and during this time received many honors She has been the clarinet section leader and also twirler for two years This year she is secretary and sweetheart of the band Her talents are not 11m1ted for Brenda also plays the piano has a beautiful volce and is very good in art Besides being talented beautiful and popular Brenda works hard in her school subjects You will see her name on the honor roll almost every month This fall Brenda received one of the highest honors any girl can win in High School She was chosen the 1957 1958 Queen of Mason High The Student Counc1l has chosen as December's Stu dent of the Month KATHERINE SCHMIDT Kather ine a Sen1or has justified this choice by her numer ous achievements and by her winning personality Among her contributions to the school in the past h avt been class secretary, publisher on the unior Paper Staff cheerleader, and FHA song leader all in her junior year and Choral Club treasurer in her Sophomore year Besides this Katherine has helped team this year as head cheerleader and is now serv 1ng as Choral Club president class secretary and FHA president In her Sophomore year she was a member of the Spab1s Club and is currently a mem ber of the Sewing Club Kather1ne's popularlty is evidenced by the various honors bestowed upon her She was Farm Bureau Queen for 1956 Class Favorite both her Freshman and Junlor years and FFA Sweetheart last year In the recent Qucen's Contest she was selected as one of the princesses An active member ofthe Lutheran Church,Kather1ne is now serving as a Sunday School teacher For the past one and a half years she was president of the Luther League Katherine has high st and ards and has Shown out standing leadership characteristics Having m a1n ta1ned good grades throughout school, Kathe r1ne plans to attend college next fall and take a secre tarial course , A . The Student Council has chosen KENNETH DURST as the Student of the Month for October. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Durst. Kenneth is a Senior student this year. He served as vice president of his class during his junior year and was also chosen class favorite the same year. He was a member of the annual staff for three years. He was representative to the Student Council for two years. Kenneth has participated in sports,playing base- ball his first three years in high school and football his last three years. He is one of the captains for the present football team. Kenneth has excelled in F.F.A. work. He has been a member all four years of high school and during this time has served as vice presi- dent his Iunior year and is president of the local F.F.A. chapter this year. He is also serving as vice president of this area of the F.F.A. at the present time. Kenneth has also been a member of the poultry judging team and the livestock judging team for two years. The daughter of Mrs. Louise Simp- son, LOU ANN TAYLOR has be en wisely chosen as Student of the Month for November by the Mason High Student Cotmcil. Lou Ann, a senior, is a member of the Student Council this year. She has also been a member of the band four years, a member of the Spanish Club during Sophomore year, and a member of the Speech Club her Junior year. The parliamentarian of the F.H.A. this year,LouAnn has been a mem- ber of that organization for four years. Last year, Lou Ann was a member of the Speech Club's one-act play cast. Also, she participated in last year's district Interscholastic League competition in the poetry reading contest. Concerning sports, Lou Ann was a member of the girls' basketb all team during her freshman and sophomore years, and a member of the volleyball team her sophomore and junior years. 4. , ,yn ' fr Ffa: Q . Q The Student Council of Mason High has selected LENORE IDEFFLER as Student of the Month for March. She is a Senior this year and during the four years of high school has done quite a lot for the school. Lenore has been a member in good standing of the F.H.A. for four years. She has served as president of the organization her last two years. She has been an outstanding student in her studies. This is shown by her being on the honor roll every six weeks with all A's. Lenore served as Freshman class re- porter and was editor of the junior paper. She has been on various committees this year and served as chairman of the Senior assembly program committee. In the recent school elections Le- nore was a runner-up for Senior class favorite and also for Most Outstanding Girl in high school. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Loeffler.
