WHO'S WHO I n,'.' Pri T he Studcnt Council h as chosen Mary Kothmann as the Student of the Month for janu- ary, She is the daughter of lvlr. S Mrs. Gideon Kothmann, Mary was twirler her sopho- more and junior years. This year, she was the drum major and is a member of the Band Council. She holds the office of treasurer in F.l-l.A. Mary served as reporter of her class during her freshman year. She is serving as senior class re- porter this year. Mary plans to attend the University of Texas and major in English. The Student Council's sele ction for Student of the Month for October was Charles Eckert, son of Mr. G Mrs. Hilmar Eckert. Charles has contxibuted much to M. H. S. in the last four years. He was president of the Student Council his junior and senior years and class president his sophomore year. In F.F.A. Charles has held the offices of president, secretary, and parl is Area VII vice president. Charles is an a iamentarian. This year he ctive member of the Band and this year was chosen Band president. Charles' popularity is shown by his being chosen c l a s s favorite his sopho- more year. Charles is active in church work. He has been president of the local Luther League and Federa- tion president for two years. , After graduation Charles plans to attend T.L.C. For December, the S tudent Council has chosen Kathleen Lei- feste for the Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Mr, 8 Mrs. Theo Leifeste. Kathleen was a cheerleader her junior year and was elected head cheerleader for this ye ar. She is also editor of the school annual and Senior Class secretary. When she was a jtmior, Kathleen was reporter for the Choral Club and was one of the finalists in the Interscholastic L e a g u e t y p i n g competition. She is an excellent student, and she has a habit of making straightA's in all subjects. Kathleen has twice served as sec- retary of the Luther League and has been the pianist for her Sunday School the past four years. Listed as her favorite subjects are commercial work and English.
