6 4-'iff O - ,. 1-rs-Y' 'Nine ,it --, I hope that we can all look back upon this year as one of great achievement - for you, a year closer to manhood and womanhood and maturity, and for me, a year of rich experiences in a new profession. High School is a period of our lives when we begin to assume real responsibilities for ourselves, and fast realize that we,and only we, are responsible for our own acts. I hope that we, the faculty and administration, have been successful in helping you to become a more mature person, and have aided you in developing mental and technical skills. Particularly will I watch, with eager anticipa- tion, my first senior class continue its growth and development. fffifflywvf Ellis P. Wood High School Principal Dear Reader: This volume of the Branding Iron records the history of another year in Mason High School. For stu- dents and faculty we hope that most of the memories of the year will become fonder as the years go by. This could be remembered as the tieing year for athletic teams wearing the purple and white uniforms of our school. The members of the staff of this publication have contributed very generously of their time and talent to make this fine book possible, The biggest reward for a thing well done is to have done it. A teacher of an earlier age, Epictetus, said: Diffi- culties are things that show what men are . For the future we do not wish for you an easy time, but that you will stand up well Linder the stresses and strains of life. We trust that your experiences in Mason High School this year will have helped equip you to live a fuller and more purposeful life than you would have lived without having had them. The best of wishes always. Yours truly, geeaiyw E. R. Sharpe Superintendent K 4 I E 44. nmun
