This season's campaign could not be called successful because there was nothing accom- plished. The games which were Won were games which should have been won and the games lost were games which would have accomplished something if they had been won. In the district tournament, Mason was again eliminated by the smooth-working St. Mary's team after winning from Haslett the night before. The Maroons were expected to go places in the state tournaments but did not live up to the expecta- tions. 22 C3 I - HAXOY 9. Le XX H' '5we'WuQQD' D 'YN

By graduation the Mason team will lose such star perform- ers as Captain Fred Silsby, Raymond Heincelman, Bernard Fancher, Paul DeRose, Robert Puller, lim Davis, lim Young, Wallace Bailey, Leo Murphy, and Richard Hunter. Of these, the ones Who deserve recognition for playing steady and consistent ball throughout the year are Fred Silsby, center, a line in himself: Robert Fuller, guard, sparlcfplug of the line, giving his opposition the type of fighting they called for, Raymond Heincelman, blocking back, clearing the paths and making it easy for the ball carriers. Throughout the year the scoring burden was carried mostly by Paul DeRose, center for the Maroons. Others who shared the high scoring honors were Bill Bergin, Bernard Fancher, Raymond Heincelrnan, lim Young. Harry Michitsch, who took Fred Silsby's position when Fred was forced to quit basketball because of an injury, has improved greatly this year and will prove the main cog in the Maroon lineup in the years to come. Mason will be greatly weakened through graduation as all but three members of the team are seniors. The senior members are Paul DeRose, Robert lnghram, Bernard Fancher, Raymond Heincelman, lim Davis, Wallace Bailey, and lim Young. Some fine-looking prospects coming up from the second team are Mike Simone, Ross Hilliard, David Swearingen, Robert Marshall, and Maurice Bailey. These boys have an excellent change to become regulars next year and if they work hard will become Mason's future stars. Captain Paul DeRose 23
