Sophomores ...lli Q Bang! An overshoe lands by the paper shoot. Whack! A locker abruptly stops the flight ot another. Where's a hanger for my coat? I hid one right here last night. I always have to go without a hanger, and with a vicious thrust a coat sails over the bars and talls in a heap on the other side, along with a couple other jackets and a coat picked up on its flight. Oh, now I can't open my locker. Helen, you try it. It's locker number 186-my combination is 32-l7e9. Don't tell any- one else, will you? The speakers voice carried clearly way down the corridor. Gee, Helen, you're a genius. Thanks! My comb? Look in this Latin book: it it isn't there it's in my Algebra book. General assembly? Sit with me. l got something to tell you. Sure, it's important. Let me at the mirror now. Am I okay? VIVA RIKER Let's get going thenq it's late. M'1m 'Im'j?S X N . I Do you Wonder why the sophomores barely reach their home-rooms on time? OTTO GREIN History, American Go - ment, Economics,65 Though yet our hopes are green, the harvest-fields of freedom shall be crowned with sunny sheen. Freshmen O Last September a host of freshmen entered school from the country bringing with them pep and zip in large quantities. This pep was very noticeable at the football games. Anyone who ever sat next to a freshman vowed they never would again. They didn't understand the game and seemed to think that we had a touchdown every time some one was knocked out by shrill shrieks and screams. They pounded each other black and blue and practically made kindling Wood of the bleachers. Their eager enthusiasm was noticeable in pep meetings, too. Until they had attended a few, they always were coming in strong on the last Rah! Rah! after everyone else had finished. Then, too, most of them didn't know the school songs and supplied Words of their own, making a pleasing C?l harmony. Oh, well we were freshmen once ourselves and can't help admiring their perseverance in spite of upper classmen's smiles. The band, orchestra, athletic departments and many clubs have been greatly benefited by their entrance into high school. FRESHMEN OFFICERS President ......,,.................,..
