K Pzezs school athletlc field and glrls served hot dogs and candy Even the magazlne campalgn created some excltement for there vsas a contest In salesmanship Loren Leonard Jess Curtls Allen Frederlck Harold Bell Howard Smiley Vlctor H111 George Ellls and Ellls Hazelton entered wholeheartedly into the game of football In basketball we were equally well represented And 1n baseball well we were r1ght there Lefty Burns and Butch Leonard surpr1sed those batters and Babe Ruth Reynolds kept the pltchers pretty busy Smlley Just hated to see the ball pass his glove field grabblng onto the ball whenever a chance came There were others too Leah Dlehl and Doris Harrlson began thelr career as Mason s two star guards on the glrls basketball team Les11e hlgh school let Lila Blakely come over here to school that year Perhaps they d1dn t reallze what a rash thmg they were domg for Lila has made a name for herself here 1n scholarsh1p Just see what they lost' On the mght of May 17th the doors of the gym were thrown open to reveal a charmmg orlental tea garden to those who looked on Juniors and Seniors roamed happlly about and finally took thelr places at the dainty tables prepared for the1r use It was a happy occaslon The fall of 1929 brought new helghts to be reached Harold Copp took up the rems as mayor of the school Ellls Hazelton has kept the records and Gladys Oesterle looked after the finances of Mason Hlgh We llked Howard Smlley pretty well for presldent IH our Jumor year so we chose him agaln for 29 and 30 Mr Walcott has dlrected our undertaklngs thls year Copp represeneed us IH debatlng Jess Curtls led the football team as captaln Butch Leonard basketball and Vlctor H111 for baseball George Post IS our physlcs whiz If you want some electrlcal work done Just go to him V1c H111 Hollis Bartlett and Scotty made a good showing m the Judglng contests under the dlrectlon of Mr Bartley Clarence Reynolds was handlcapped because of lllness and dld not enter the state contest HIS vsolk before that time IS well worth recognltlon Lou Blodgett Gerry Sawyer and Elleen Rlpley helped hold up the reputation of the g1rls quartette Elleen came here this year from Belle vue Hlgh And Bllly Dlsappeared the annual Senlor play went over wlth a boom we thlnk thanks to Mlss Hays MISS McCurdy Mr Walcott and to all others who helped us The receptlon was lovely We w11l probably never forget It It marked the end of our hlgh school days Years from novs when the class of 00 Wlll be scattered to all ends of the earth anyone of you may llnger fondly over the pages of the hlstory of that Senlor class back at Mason hlgh school Classmates our names are entered on the pages of hlstory May we l1ve llves vsorthy of the honor' Helen Zlmmer 1 'Q 19210 .-16111: Q ' A pf: 1. fits ,,,.
