411 N' Qmrhnra llllh Class Hlstory Just twelve years ago the class of 1926 Jolned the Mason H1 MOVIES It was on a brlght September mormng 1n 1914 that Mlss Wlnnle Tltus our renowned and revered first dlrector welcomed these Baby Peggys and Jackle Coogans Her w1nn1ng sm1le of greetlng and adept manner soon dlspelled that homeslck feehng so common to begmners Under her competent guld ance and patlent 1nstruct1on natural shyness was exchanged for spryness The vocal cords were tramed 1n the art of phonetlcs the eyes to see the ears to hear the hands were gulded to wrlte words 1nstead of hleroglyphlcs and some feet were tramed to dance by the a1d of a hlckory stlck As we have moved from class to class from year to year It has been wlth a b1t of sadness for the one gone by and a b1t of gladness for the one to come We have been the understudy for the class ahead of us as they acted so we trled We have had our comedies and our tragedles We have stood 1n lme to welcome new members to our cast and we have march ed 1n sad processlon blddmg a tearful farewell to a loved member Last year tragedy stalked mto our mldst and we were left to mourn two of the orlglnal class Helen Cross and Homer Smlth both well loved and greatly mlssed But re enforcements down through the years have brought us to this finale ensemble wh1ch IS an all star cast We have been well tramed by a corps of excellent dlrectors to act our parts They have strlven at all tlmes to create the proper atmosphere arrange the approprlate stage settlngs set us the correct example of costumes and cosmetlcs They have selected our parts drllled us 1n our l1nes glven us our cues and prompted us when necessary And more than once a member has been called behmd the scenes to FQCGIVC a callmg down for not playlng up to hls part It has not been all work We have enjoyed many pleasures on the slde and have recelved some honors Our J umor Senlor Receptlon was one of the most successful ever gxven ln Mason Our Semor play Klcked Out of College glven ln the h1gh school audltorlum two SUCCESSIVB evenlngs was not only a success finan clally but 1n 1tS presentatlon Now as we near our final appearance ID thls famous and well loved studio the nlght of our Commencement may the dlplomas we recelve 1nsp1re us at all tlmes to act our parts well ln the real drama of Llfe for All the world s a stage And all the men and women merely players They have thelr 8X1tS and then' entrances And one man 1n hls tlme plays many parts.
