S.-ANCHORA-1925 Class History I tenderly review the page of years O'er which we haye learned to striye With many smiles and many tears I prepare the annals of twentv tiye First let me tell you of the original members of our class Mary Sher man, Lucllle White, Ey elyn Porter, Ruth Lasenby Wynona Rusch, George McArthur, Richard Post and Selora Dunsmore, whose names have made a record for our class both ln oratory and in athletlcs Pat and Emmle are on our championship basketball team Tiny represented our school ln the Detroit News contest md won second place, while he was equally successful in declamatory work Dick has taken an active part ln High School athletics Mary Evelyn Wynona and Selora have proved them selves very loyal members of the class During the first SIX years yve were Joined by others at difierent times Amon Laxton in the first gl ade Marvel Maclam and Florence Iryyln in the second grade Lawrence Kruse became a member 1n the fifth grade and Ethel Droscha in the slyth All of these have proved a profitable 3ddltlOIl to the class, as they have furnlshed us athletic material and student coun c1l members The next year yve entered the J unlor High School and we lmmedlately became 1nterested in all High School act1y1t1es and elected officers, Mary Sherman acting as our first president In the eighth grade many more Jolned our ranks, who evidently thought Mason High School a good educational 1HSlL1tlltlOH They were Addie Keesler, Lois Parker, Frances C tdy George Post Eloise Huntoon, Merton MIZGF and Arthur Bunker We are proud of Addie for her high scholastic ab1l1ty Frances has been a fine Campfire girl, and Jlmmle we all know as a good financial manager Merton IS another athlete and we have no better Ike has won fame as yell master, and where, tell me, can you find a fellow more w1ll1ng to help than Arthur We remember his work in preparation for the Junior Semor reception Whlle we were eighth graders our greatest desire was to have a class name and the following year we assumed the worthy title Freshmen Here a remarkable addition was made to our class Agnes Miller Harold Barnhill June Wells Bob Bullen Opal Thurlby Edlth Walters Richard Pullen and Ponald Smalley Barney ha seryed as Mayor of the High School for the past year 1nd has been a yery capable manager June IS our mathematlclan and we are certainly glad we can claim her as a member Bob has shown his stren th on the baseball diamond Dick will alway be remembered for his splendid work as Clarence 1n the Senior play Opal has been a loyal Portia mem ber for three years Rondie has proved his worth as the Hlgh School Chief of Police men duties ln the count hou e md in other public buildings and it did not seem long, before we became Sophomores Then Jack Snyder and Leon Coyydry Joined u Jack was basketball captun md leon fithered u ill in the Semor play As Juniors we welcomed Wilhmft Collar 'lliabelle Buckingham Ellamae Stoddard Harriett Bullen William Porter Clifton Swift Harry Ammon and Frank Cleyer Shall we ever forget Pllamae as Flippy Nora in the Portia play of 24 Harriett Mia and Wilhma have certainly showed u what loyalty to the class means Harry and Frank are baseball fellows Cant you Just see Harry pltchin and Frank up to batn' Mary Jones 18 our mo t recent addition and though she has not been with us long we aIIl Egallze her great ability which she displayed in managing the Portia carnival play o I have related the chronicle of' the cla of H to proye that we will be mi sed from High School but we promi e to proye 1 loy xl alumni -Xlthou h I have not l6Yl6W6fl all the merits of' the cla s I realize th it True worth 1 ln being., not seeming, In dolni., each day th it goe l Some little good not in dreaming O grclt thing t If by andl SI- I OR-X DLNSNIORI' I ity f ' Y , I. .
