Mr. Bronson wos principal ar MCHS for eleven years. Over rhese years MCHS has undergone ■Tony social changes. Branson has worked ro make Mason Counry an enjoyable school for borh srudenrs and faculty. In making rhese chonoes John Bronso always hod his office doors open ro parents, faculty, and srudenrs ro hear rheir complaints and suggestions and hopefully ro reach an acceptable solurion ro improve school relations and conditions. make many improvements in borh arhleric and academic areas. The arhleric deport- ee football proprogram and a new football field behind rhe school. During Mr. Branson's ie saw rhe first MCHS boys' basketball ream go ro rhe Sweet Sixteen Srare Tournament return rhe following year. During rhe tournaments, Branson served as head cheer- condirions oround rhe school, Mr. B pushed for o new business wing ro be added ro rhe library three rimes rhe size of rhe old one, ond a new cafereria rhor doubled rhe size of allowed for rwo lunch shifts instead of rhree. Counry, John Branson is remembered for many outstanding rrairs. More prevalent was his abiliry ro know almosr every srudenr on a one-ro-one basis. He knew rhe srudenrs, who rhey were buddies wirh, whar dasses rhey had, scores rhey made on rests, and whar rheir special interests were. Drown, Jr. Gov. Drown was here for o dedication service ond ground- breaking for the new A-A Highway. This highway is to be builr from Alexandria ro Ashland ro replace the old, windy roads going cross-country. Drown onridpores rhor after the completion of the A-A the Ohio Volley area will become o more prosperous business region. At the dedication service, the governor was joined by store representative, Pete Worthington, os well os other store ond local officials. The governor was presented o silver pitcher for his accomplishments ond o quilt for the new baby. MCHS woodworking dosses joined the governor for a picture in front of the sign they builr in his honor.
