Check your coat! Only 100! Here we have Taylor Wood and Cathy Smart trying to keep up with the flood of coats that kept the sophomores busy at ballgames. One of the newest and most active clubs at MACOHI is the FBLA. The meeting is called to order with the reading of the creed. 3 c£wi£te£. . Ain't love grand? At least that's what Jeff and Billy GWynne say. STREAKERS AT MASON COUNTY HIGH! Mark Cotton is caught getting into the 4 As usual, the cafeteria came under heavy criticism this year, but at the moment, Steve Lofton, Toni Payne, and Don Black are doing more eating than talking. The girl’s basketball team learned that in order to win, you must practice. Patty Graves is shown working on her shooting technique. 5 Qpwts. . . The sophomore boys must perform great feats of grace and strength in their physical education classes. These girls are learning the fundamentals of one of the most popular sports of today - volleyball. Mason County girls showed their talents this year on our winning girls' basketball team. Coidmts: 8 The journey of a lifetime begins with a single step; reaching and searching for that intangible moment when one’s identity is materialized. In the beginning we understand neither the universe, nor the world, nor people, nor ourselves. Blindly, we reach. We push forward individually to prepare for the time when the future becomes the past, the dream becomes a reality, a life imagined becomes a life lived. Eager to realize a togetherness that must be left forever untouched. We pause to remember the good times before movin' on to enjoy, enjoy, ENJOY. EDITOR: Kim Bramel, PHOTOGRAPHER: Jim Hicks, EDITOR: Debbie Poe. II GO CWLC! The Mason County Royals opened the 1974-75 basketball season right with a 50-33 victory over the Saint Patrick Saints. Tony Breeze led the scoring in the 17 point win. Our cheerleaders and fans urged the team on. Coach Jefferson outlined the plays. At half-time, the drill team entertained fans and girl watchers alike. 13 FVi l Over the Labor Day weekend, thieves tried to burn their way into the office safe. As a result, the entire office suite was greatly damaged by fire, smoke, and heat. The Mason County maintenance crew and local fire departments fought the blaze. The students pictured below are indicating where they found the tools used by the vandals. M Festivities We celebrated the 1974 Christmas season in grand fashion. There was drama - Christmas memories” featuring the Creative Dramatics class including Bedouin Duncan and Walter Stewart. The Night Before Christmas was presented by the Co-Ed-Y featuring sugar plums and there was music - Mrs. Runyon and the choir led the students and faculty in several carols. The program was closed with the per- formance of the world famous 4 fools quartet and the sound of Merry Christmas all around. 15 OuA Dttbbdfo DaxUmS The Royal girls were well on their way to an eight- five season in this game against Augusta. In this, their first game of the 1974-75 season, our ladies of the court gave the sur- prised Augusta squad a very sound trouncing winning quite handily. Susan Hick- erson got the tip, and it was all ours from then on, thanks to fancy ball han- dling as shown here by Barb Landers. Coach Mahan nearly lost her scalp as she gave her all in a fine job of coaching, and the winning Royals went to the dressing room tired but happy. 16 ORGANIZATIONS THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR BOYS STUDYING VOCATIONAL AGRICULTURE 17 FM The Mason County FHA Chapter was busy all year with their many activities and community functions. To start the year, they held many money making projects including a tractor pull, candy and bake sales, and the annual candy bar sale. These projects increased the budget to handle the social events. Dads loved Daddy Date Night, and the dances - Hallow- een, Christmas and Valentines - proved to be fun and suc- cessful. Mrs. Ann Porter, the chapter advisor, kept the chap- ter strong with her guidance and support. This year she also advised the Regional President and, the Regional Reporter. The community depends on the FHA to hold such drives as the March of Dimes, Arthritis Fund, and the Heart Fund. All girls enjoyed writing Santa letters to local children. The Governor's visit allowed several girls to participate as aides. A dinner for the Needy Kids was given with the help of several of our members. Senior FHA Officers This year, the Mason County chapter was an Honor Roll chapter which is quite an honor. Finally, the Mother-Daugh- ter banquet closed the year with awards of achievement and installation of incoming officers. 18 Mason County FHA Chapter members Regional President - Paige Vice; Regional Reporter and State President - Diane Roberson. Ptettcli In April, twenty five students went over 2000 miles north to Quebec City, Canada, to study French culture and explore life there. It was a memorable voy- age, filled with skyscrapers in Toronto, narrow streets in Que- bec, and magnificent falls at Niagara. The bus trip was long but fun (in a crazy sort of way). Our hotels were cozy, the weather chilly, and the snow on the ground was deep, deep, deep. From historic Fort Chambley to a late-night ferry ride, from a gourmet meal to MacDonald's, from a beautiful cathedral to a bus terminal, it was an experi- ence all of us will remember with a smile and a tear. 29 Members of the French Club FBLA 31 FBLA MEMBERS Vanessa Mayberry with the Scrapbook which placed 2nd in Regional Debbie Beckett with her exhibit, a revolving competition and Pat Hamlin with the Bulletin Board which earned 3rd spiralstaircase showing LEADERSHIP via place.
