This year's senior trip was moved from Wash- ington, D.C., to Williamsburg, Virginia. The students had expressed their discontent with trav- eling to Washington annually, so the above change was made. For the first time ever, a student council was formed at Mason County. The Council consisted of two students from each homeroom with Ann Wood presiding over the meetings. The Council had many involved discussions over school poli- cies . The Student Council helped to further the education of its members as well as its advisors. This year the seniors voted on where to go for the senior trip. President Ann Wood, calling a Student Council meeting to order. 5

The most progressive scholastic change took place in the home economics department where Family Living, a class designed tp help students to be more independent, was intro- duced. The class took numerous field trips including a trip to Eastern State Hospital, The Lexington Narcotics Hospital, and Clopay Corporation of Augusta. One of the most significant changes took place within the faculty with eleven new teachers being hired. This has been the largest number of changes in the faculty in the school's history. So this is who Mickey Lang is dating! Washington Methodist Church. Mike Ravencraft - the Betty Crocker of tomorrow? 4 These are the new additions to the Mason County High faculty.

This year, the student dress code was more relaxed than in the past. Girls wore jeans and boys allowed their hair to grow, which helped to create a more relaxing atmosphere for the students, if not the fac- ulty. The students were blessed with an 'after hours’ soft drink machine, which was a favorite meeting place after school. Judy Love and Kim Bramel stopped for a rest on our new Coke machine. What once was a crime is now legal concerning girls' jeans. Jeff McKeehan is shown exercising his rights con- cerning the dress code. 6
