RADIANT SMILES - The queen and her court brighten up East Park for an afternoon, 4'11 3f4 OF ROYALTY -- The Homecoming queen, Mindy Porter, reigns over the festivi- ties. The 100th class of MCHS nomi- nated Connie Blake, Lois Foster, Jan Nutton, Mindy Porter, and Jennifer Scott as queen candidates. The student body selected Mindy Porter as the 1976 Homecoming Queen. Thursday night many stu- dents turned out for the bonfire, which the newly crowned queen lit. Friday night the mighty Mohawks attempted to Cage the Cats of Marshalltown. The halftime program was centered around the queen and her court. Although the Mohawks were defeated by a score of 16 to 6, spirits were not dampened at the dance afterwards. The theme of the dance was Stairway to Heaven with the music by KoIa. Here the queen was given a white football signed by the football team.
