Student Council The 1955-56 Student Council, composed of 17 members, held their meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month., Ron Duel presided with Mr. Block and Mr. Chapman as advisors . The first activity of the Council was a Welcome Party held to show the Freshmen around the High School. The Student Council sponsored the annual hay rack rides, the crowning of the Farm Festival King and Queen, and the Christmas Dance. They also supervised the class elections, scheduled activities on the school calendar, selected the assembly programs, arranged exchange assemblies with other schools, and planned the all school picnic. The Council backed the giving of the T. B. tests making Mason City High 10012, and collected donations to the March of Dimes . The annual magazine campaign netted the Council S565 .40 . It was held November 15 to November 30. The honor roll of B or better was put into effect. Representatives attended the District Convention at Macomb and the State Convention in Chicago. The Council also returned council visits with Greenview, Forman, and Balyki. Ui
