On Monday August Z9, 1949 the following thirteen Freshmen began their careers in the Mascot School: Darrel Lubeck, Darrel Schultz, Dolores Dietz, Shirley Sandquist, Anita Lueking, Marilyn Clayton, Davis Drake, Duane Ekberg, Robert Schroeder, Leslie Drake, Patricia Yerion, Evald Pouk, Frances Johnston. Cf these three: Patricia, Frances, and Evald, hale from Atlanta. The others all received their basic training in Mascot. After one month, initiation began and lasted for three days. All enjoyed the various stunts imposed upon them by upperclassmen. The first party was in November and held in the gym of Mascot. The Sophomores were guestsof the evening. This year the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades are in the Grammar Room. We had twenty-six pupils enroll at the beginning of the year. Now there are only twenty-four pupils as Ronald and Winona Johnson moved away. There are three members in the eighth grade, eleven members in the seventh grade and ten members in the sixth grade.
