DRESSER There is no one more dedicated to this institution of education than Rodney C. Dresser. For fifteen years he has devoted his en- ergy and administrative talent to the often frustrating job of making Masconomet operate. Compassionately and competent- ly he has made the decisions, large and small, that have in- fluenced a decade and a half of Masconomet students. He has taken an active interest, not only in our curricular educa- tion, but in sports and other extra-curricular activities as well. This interest has insured that our learning experience be one of social instruction in addition to academic schooling. Some of us, under the pressure of growing up in today’s world, may not now appreciate how much Mr. Dresser has cared for the students of Masconomet. But we gratefully acknowledge his pa- tient guidance and his concern for us as individuals, and as a class. He has tried to make sure that we, the graduates of Mas- conomet, could look back at our years here with pride and a sense of accomplishment. With great gratitude, in recognition of his sincerity, patience, and dedication to us, we in turn, dedicate the 1974 Yearbook to him. DONALD A. DOLIBER There is something very special about Mr. Doliber. Those of us lucky enough to have had him as a teach- er know why he was the 1973 teacher of the year. Those of us who know him as class advisor realize the long hours and personal effort he has invested in our activities. What we feel for Mr. Doliber reflects more than just what he has done, it’s what he is. His sense of humor has kept us laughing when things looked bad, while his concern and experience guided us when we need- ed some self control. He has stood up for what we wanted. We have come to know him as a warm, sin- cere person we can trust. MAN OFTHE YEAR The class of 1974 respects Mr. Doliber more than any- one else at Masconomet. He ' s earned it. MRS. PAMELA L. STEPP During the 5 V 2 years that she has taught Speech at Masconomet, Mrs. Stepp has made a lasting im- pression. Mrs. Stepp devoted her personal time, sometimes five or six weekends in a row, and long hours after school, to make Masconomet students the best speakers in the state. To a special man we give special appreciation. From all of us to Mr. Doliber, 1974 MAN OF THE YEAR, we say, “ Thanks, D.A.D.” She has been totally involved in communication, from making Speech Club Masconomet ' s largest organization to starting a prize winning debate team. It was her ideas that initiated the popular Speech Club Coffee House and Spaghetti Dinner and organized the Masconomet Snow Festival, the largest speech competition in the state. Mrs. Stepp and her Forensics classes have present- ed many informative assemblies to the student body and preformed numerous public service pro- jects. She gave her students incentive, encourage- ment, and personal attention. Her enthusiasm was contagious and wholehearted. Mrs. Stepp left Masconomet this year, but she won ' t be forgotten. There is no way that we can repay her time and effort in the same magnitude in which she gave them to us. We say thank you to Mrs. Pamela L. Stepp, 1974 WOMAN OF THE YEAR. Fay Superintendent FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATION Richard R. Dussault Principal Since the beginning, Masconomet ' s administration building has stood in front of the school. Known as the “gray shack”, it serves as a reminder of the administration ' s job of coordi- nating students, staff, and community in the search for education and accomplishment. This building has been witness to the decisions that shaped our living and learning experience. Soon it will stand no longer. The new building is being built by students, a truly constructive project. Rodney C. Dresser Special Asst, to the Superintendent Mr. Phillip Carletti S.S. Some of us will remember these people individually, some as a group, and some, unfortunately, not at all. These are the staff and volunteers who make Mascono- met run smoothly. Food services help, library aides, tutors, departmental secre- taries, custodians, and matrons. All of these people play an important, if unac- claimed part in our Masconomet experience. We dedicate this page to these people in recognition of their service to the student body. ■ N, 1 , y ! J SUE J. The production, staged by Miss Jean Jarvie and starring Ken Talberth and Louise Bears, thrilled standing room only audiences. The standing ovations received each night attested to the beauty and emotional impact of this very special production. i I ! ■■■■■■ — GERMAN EXCHANGE STUDENTS . A new first!!! Masconomet was visit- ed by 25 German students in early September. They attended classes for four weeks, learned a little about our American culture, and had a great time. A few of them even helped our Soccer team into the Eastern Mass. Semi-finals. Twen- tyeight of our students visited Saar- brucken for four weeks in March. ««w ii amm.jrme A A 1 A CHEERLEADERS £ a These are the young ladies that gave many teams the drive to continue when they were down and led many others on to victory.
