Since early dawn the breaking seas have thrown Themselves against the granite ' s polished sheen And left some mark to show how they have been Through violent storms --to crash upon the shore. It curled before the beach and thundered in With spindrift flying like a pennant from Its crest, and opalescent foaming surf Exploding, falling . . . quiet in the end.
