The queen of our Prom was Suzanne Savage. Members of her court were: Judith Allen, Priscilla Kane, Bon- nie Richards, Cynthia Ruocco, Janice Waitt, and Carlene Wells . On November twenty-third, 1966, the third annual Powderpuff Football Game was played between the Seniors and the Juniors . The Seniors, who had the full backing of the Play- boy Empire played a great game, and, in spite of a 0-0 tie, the Seniors were declared the technical victors. Gay Mann and Wendy Graham co -captained one of the most talented teams ever assembled at Masconomet . The Juniors played a good game, but were out- classed. During half-time, a spectacular show was produced by Senior well-wishers. In its eighth year, MITOBO has become a fixture at Masconomet, looked forward to with eagerness by underclassmen; for seniors, it is somewhat over- shadowed by graduation. The work necessary for so important a com- pilation has necessitated many late hours for editors and staff. It has involved planning, writing, and typ- ing, financing, and censoring, ac- tivities which were coordinated by our Editor-in-Chief, Scott Prior, and our advisor, Mr. Robert Jacques. In addition to Scott, there were eight editors. They are Assistant Editor-in-Chief Suzanne Savage, Literary Editor, Winifred Brackley; Art Editor, David Barr; Photography editor, Lloyd Farrin; Advertising Editor, Robert Hughes; Subscription Editor, Priscilla Kane; Head Proof- reader, Robert Armitage; Head typist, Helen Jones . How can we go wrong? These staffs and editors have worked diligently and can promise the best possible yearbook, MITOBO ' 67. «• I - tiL J v r v ■ . . t, i - f ' W ■V y,. _ U. - r - ' - ■ - „ 7 V r , v . _ .. _ v X „ - t r ' . 4f . % . . v V ■”■ . -_r .-%fj|R, ' • ■ ■ ' ♦ • .f % ' f «. -v g ' V ■ ■ .+, ' ¥ - ■? k .J. - . -. Beginning with Pentucket, a win of 60-47 and ending with Hamilton -Wenham, the season had several highpoints . In the win over Ipswich, Phil Riley, Co -captain and among the high -scorers in the league, made an outstand- ing performance, rivaled by David Benson, the other Co-captain and one of the team ' s high-scorers. There were several heart -breakers: the first Hamilton -Wenham game was lost by one point, and the following one, against Pentucket, was lost by two. Steve Sawyer, in his first year as varsity coach did a great job with the team. Outstanding players were John Lee, Jeff Hosterman, John Deveny, Charlie Peters, Joe Fowler, Greg Kentera, Jim Tirrell, Tony Wyner, Ken Crocker, and Roland W alker . 1 hockey 1967 Hockey, a favorite winter sport at Masconomet, got off to a good start . Our Chieftains either tied or won the first five of our games . The team was coached by Gerald Plumley, assisted by Bob Poor. High scorer for the season was Dan Eremian, also among the top ten high scorers in the league . Other high scorers were Co-captain Eric Peterson and Jim Kuczun. The other Co -captain Dan Mahoney was out- standing as goalie. Dan Despres, defenseman, added lots of excitement. The games at Bill- erica were well attended by enthusiastic spectators . Some of us are through with school, others of us have only begun our pursuit of knowledge. There will be new ex- periences and opportunities, some of us will be receptive to change, while others will re- turn to conservatism . Our lives stretch out ahead --an expanse to be filled as we wish . There are no boundaries to dreams and ideals, but those which we ourselves set . An end to an old life, an open door to a new . . . This MITOBO is our reflection of these four years, a reflection we all can share. 128 i ■ ■ iwhbmpi iimimimmi
