The whole school joins in this dedication as Mr. Pavesi has worked untiringly for all of us . 5 In the spring of our junior year we, the class of 1963, were stunned by the tragic loss of oui friend, William C. Bixi has been with us for the past two years, not as a mem- ber of any class, but as a mem- ber of the school. She is a special student taking the business course and therefore this has enabled her to be of great assistance in the office. She is well-liked and respect- ed by all who know her, and we are grateful for the op- portunity we had in helping her to adjust to the American way of life. Lost, $tuuj £, o ? The purpose was to promote knowledge and understanding between the students of Masconomet and the outside world. The first project taken up by this club was Project Monterrey. Project Monterrey is under the auspices of CARE and is an under- developed area in Honduras. There are eight poverty stricken towns in this area and the students of Masconomet are earning $500 for their advancement. Seventy per cent of the people are illiterate; we are helping to build a school. Half of the people are afflicted with various diseases and so we are helping to build a health unit. Most of the people go hungry most of the time, and we are providing agricultural tools and seeds to help them help themselves. The main money-making events were the weekly donut sales and the Shares in CARE dinner for twenty Stockholders. Each event was successful in both earning money and promoting world -wide understanding on the parts of the M. R. H. S. people and those vil- lagers in Honduras. 75 ( .
