SP0llTS ENTEIITAIN ALL Sports play an important part among Maryville High School's extra-curricular ac- tivities. Well-coached and well-supervised athletics add much to the school spirit, be- sides benefiting those who take part. Foot- ball, basketball, baseball, and tennis provide a balanced program of activities for the school year. Football and basketball are probably the most popular of the school sports. This year the Red Rebel football team walked off with the Blount County championship by defeat- ing Porter, Alcoa, and Everett. Maryville's athletic program greatly in- terests the whole community as well as the students. Local citizens come out in large numbers to enjoy the games. The varsity led Maryville to the Blount County football championship and a suc- cessful season with nine wins and one loss. This team is a credit to the school and to the fans who loyally supported it. HOOK ME UP, PLEASE LEFT TO RIGHT: Captain Charles Headrick, Co-Capt- ain Jimmy Harris.
