First Annual Tlapjach Fling' feeds hungry faculty, students In order to strengthen ties among faculty, students and the community, the Human Relations Committee spon- sered the first annual pan- cake breakfast December 12. It was such a success that the second annual pancake breakfast was held January 19. If its purpose was to bring all elements of the school together, it was a success as students, parents, faculty and administration all pitch- ed in to prepare, cook, serve and eat some 1200 pancakes. Coach Buck Hall CFAR UPPER RIGHTJ clowns around with his chef's hat but Principal David Goodson takes his flapjach flipping seriously KALSO ABOVEJ As do Coach Coley and Mrs. Agnes Ralph, Maryvales registrar. QLEFTD The Maryvale faculty member John Gentile, Ralph Neighbors, Gil Tre- The cafateria staff lent its help and expertise as Foreman Engineer Emerson Snyder and Principal David Foodson flipped the flap- jacks to a golden turn. Biol- ogy teacher John Strickland was responsible for the over- all operation including buy- ing the ingredients. Among the visitors who ate pancakes that morning were District Superintendent Ger- ald DeGrow and Former Maryvale Principal L.E. Bur- nett. jo and Osborn Shackleford CLEFT ABOVEJ demonstrate appetites as all who attended did. Super- intendent DeGraw was early enough to avoid the lines that developed later CABOVE RIGHTJ. Parents helped in all ways but especially at the cigar bos which served as a cash register CFAR LEFTJ.
