Class Song Ode to ’19 As time passes by so quickly now, do you know which way to turn? Those childhood years they have passed us by; now it ' s time to face the world, be strong. For now the sun is rising, and our shadows - they must not fall. Be strong and have courage, don ' t defy what you must be. Carry on, my friends, and grow fully each day. Reach out and touch your fellow man. Travel on, to roads that may lead you nowhere. The end result ' s the same, no matter. For now only our new days and ways are to come. Have you thought about the world outside? Well, listen now to me, my friends, the world is full of crime and pain. They ' re out to get you, to hurt you, it ' s true. But the storm can only last so long; good times will be on their way. Laugh at the bad times and grow with the good. If you don ' t, life will drive you crazy . It is only with able editors such as Amy and Michelle that the Amplifier is set up, typed, and printed each week in time to be distributed to the students. Both of these students are high on the scholastic standard. This is especially proven by the choice of the Science Department in the selection of Amy as winner of the highest scientific award - the Bausch-Lomb. Amy has also been an outstanding cheerleader in high school. This is a time-consuming activity, but one that is very rewarding. Michelle is a loyal member of the high school concert, marching, and pep bands. Again, here is an activity in which she participates for enjoyment and satisfaction. The devotion of time, energy, and labor that these two girls have shown as Co-Editors of the Amplifier is to be admired. Many other staff members assist with the typing, but it is Dawn’s responsibility to see that all printed material is prepared for each deadline. She does this cheerfully and loyally. Mary is well known in Marysville High School as a student who is capable, friendly, happy; but, most of all, she is always willing to help others. As Editor in Chief of the Viking, she is called on daily to help staff members and to make decisions concerning the yearbook. Dogpatch was selected as the most unnecessary town in the country , and therefore , the perfect site for nuclear tests. It appeared that something useful was found when Mammy Yokum produced her secret formula of Yokumberry tonic which made muscle men of weaklings. However , General Bullmoose , a sly and conniving politician , set a sultry siren and Evil Eye Fleagle with his double whammy to work on LEI Abner , hoping to wheedle Mammy ' s secret formula from him. The citizens of Dogpatch , after a trip to Washington , foiled his plan , and everyone settled down for a peaceful life of rustic simplicity in Dogpatch , US. A. The wonderful tunes and fine choral work contributed to making U’l Abner one of Marysville High School ' s outstanding musicals. 180 - MUSICAL By Their Own Light MUSICAL - 181 “Valhallas — Viking Heaven ” Fourth Row: Dawn MacDonald, Karri Stark, Becky Biedinger, Dana Goodin, Kathy Hart, Shelly Garbutt, Doreen Torello, Renee McDonald, Lori Stewart.
