% u As the 75-76 school year started, so did the “ presses . ” Eight ambitious students set out to publish the school paper as a way to inform fellow classmates of “What’s happening ?” “ Elmos t ” and “Gimp” gave a little “Jive Talk ” as they predicted the football season ’s games. The comedy team of Sue Collard and Kathy Samuelson was finally destroyed when Sue was put on features and Kathy was assigned the news beat. Then there was Mike Will cm sen who served as two important figures- Uteramre and “Ann Landers. ” Kim Greenhoe, between eating her oranges, covered the girls ’ sports. Lene Pavlov , usually adorned in her over-sized shirt, was in charge of running the mimeo machine and taking care of the editorials. Special “acknowledgement” goes to the advisor. Miss Gare Vivian, also known as “The Boss. ” Last but not least was Kim McCarthy , our great Editor in- Chief Kim had many responsibilities, the largest of which was “leading the way. ” Among her other duties were “cracking the whip, ” making signs and head ringmaster. But on June 10, 1976, the presses stopped ! Silence filled the press room! Confusion left! No more Friday deadlines ... until September! AMPLIFIER STAFF - 15
