Front Row — Larry McHenry, President; Karri Jones, Vice-president. Mr. Salvo presents four-year pins to seniors Cheryl Muldermans and Larry McHenry for their faithful service to band. The 1973-74 Marching band is directed by Mr. Salvo. When it came time for the Homecoming parade, the band was ready to head the parade. The band played for the March-of-Dimes to welcome the people after their long sixteen-mile walk. Playing during all the home football games, the MHS Marching Band brightened the half-times with a variety of presentations. They were again participants of the U. of M. Band Day and the Memorial Day parade. 25

The 1973 MHS Marching Band had senior Vaiarie Aldridge as their Drum Majorette. Valarie did a great job up front, blowing the whistle and leading the band for all football games and parades. Valarie has been a majorette for four years. MAJORETTES, MARCH ON ! Two of the second-year majorettes returning next year as the veterans of the girls are sophomores Karen Nicholas and Pam Robbins. These girls will have teaching the routines. This year four new majorettes were picked. Doing a fine job and returning next year are Pam Bar be. Debbie Farrer, Debbie Oliver, and Wendy Wright. the responsibility of Serving as first alternate for the majorettes this year was senior Michele D’Arcy. Michele really helped out this year learning the routines in a few ' days and perform- ing like a pro. Leading the front row of majorettes this year are seniors Mary Sawdon, Sue Ortmann, Becky Lambert and Karen Lenn. Mary has had four years of majorette experience, Sue and Becky, three, and Karen two.
