The cheerstaff put in five weeks of practice and one week of camp in El- lensburg during the summer. After that, workouts were every Monday, Tues- day, and Thursday after school. They attended World Cheerleading Camp Counsel Camp in July at Central Washington University. There, group Superior and Excellent awards were re- ceived for cheer and leadership quali- ties. The Cheerleaders themselves held two other clinics during basketball sea- son for kids ages 3-l3 to familiarize them with cheering technics. Some of the money makers were cheer clinics and dances throughout the year, as well as a car wash at the begin- ning of the year. lt was a tremendous amount of work, but the girls all worked together as a team to make it work. There were no captains or co-cap- tains, but as Senior Michelle Roach said, l'We were all leaders.
