The Class of 53 presented Our Hearts Were Young and Gayf a three-act comedy. In the leading roles of Cornelia Skinner and Emily Kim' brough were cast Shirley Savage and Marsha Harrier. Two young medical students, portrayed by LaVerne Dotson and Burt Johnson, added romantic interest to the play. These tour college students were enroute to France aboard an ocean liner. Things started happening aboard ship the minute Mr, and Mrs. Skinner, played by Carol Bills and Dale Mullen, said goodbye to 'their baby, Cornelia. Two flighty English girls, played by Rae Ann Schneider and Nancy Acklus, added hilarious bits to the uproars already under way, when Emily believes she has killed a man. G, girl'-'rv 'freer DRIVING COMMITTEE At the first Student Council meeting of the year President Bob McCoy appointed Jim Mullen and Norma Crawford seniors and Dean Ledford iunior a this years Driv g Committee lim Mullen the only member from last years committee was appointed chairman The committee registered all cars and drivers and proceeded to enforce the driving rules up by this high sch ol Because of we enforcement of these rules Marysville has had a successful and safe driving program The committee was honored this year by the General Insurance Company who featured the Marysville Driving program in a nation wide insurance magazine Pictures of the committee were also featured PROJECTOR CREW As advisor of the protector crew Mr Gibson leads boys in performing a service not only for the schools but for the community too Mr Gibson teaches the boys how to operate various types of equipment such as proiec tors tape recorders and film str ps hey learn the Care of this equipment and to watch for certain trouble points his b i a true service club work during their study period and only boys really interested are admitted KNIGHTS OF THE PADDLE Under the direction of Mr. Rounds the Knights of the Paddle is one of the hard-working organizations of our school which strives to better student conduct and behavior at sports and public events. With Jim Krause a KOP representative of the Board of Control and Jim Buell the first KOP member of Student Council the squad is receiving more recognition for what they have done in the past and the work they are continuing to do.
