', SENIORS CLASS HISTORY X ln the autumn of 1906 the class of IO twenty four rn number entered the High School Hayrnff no High School building we made our home for thi first year in the basement ot the Methodist church with Profes or lqrrpp Miss C arman and Miss Twyman as the fa ulty Here the literary provrams ffryen by the two so retres of the school were the onlv dryersrons from hard study But eyen in such an atmos phere our class was noted for its a trrrty rf we mav judge from the eprthets of those noisy Freshmen hurled at us by the upper classmen The next year we ent red the pre ent Hroh S hool building as Sophomores though with ranks reduced to little more than half their out Howeyer three more Sophomores from other s hools were en rolled during the year Here under the inspiration of Professor Bush we gathered together yells a d songs and by our spirit aroused the other classes of Marysrrlle H1 h S hool to action Allin all our Sophomore year w as one of jest and Jollity Nevertheless some things of importance were ac omplrshed Qur class motto and colors orange and black were chosen and the I0 pennant saw Its birth The Girls Basket Ball lweam made up almost entirely from the class of 1910 was organized and drilled with Miss Carman as coach One important game was played by the Sophomore team against the Fresh man Junior team the former easily wrnnrnv Th Boys Basket Ball Team with two Sophomore players was also organized this year and several baseball games were played against 'he lulalrp Indian School and the Marysville Grammar grades During our un1or year we began to take life more seriously and to manifest a greater interest in our studies than heretofore ln fact the thirteen who returned that year were determined to do or die And they certarnlv did not die Both the boys and the girls made names for themselves especially in the athletic field A number of Girls Basket Ball games were held and most of them were won for the Marvsyrlle H lnhe boys did splendid work rn football and baseball to say nothing of basket ball and tracltracrng IH all these sports the two boys a un1or won frrst pla e on the team Another feature of H1 h School life that afforded entertainment was the High School Crchestra in which two unrors held important places Our Senior vear has been a steady grind of hard work from start to finish with the routine broken now and then by a candy sale or basket ball Game lnhe principal incidents of this vear were the debates the team being comprised entirelv of Seniors and the Class Plav rn w hrch almost the entire class took actrye parts And now we thi teen Seniors are preparing to go forth from the dear old Hrgh to higher institutions or into the busy world but who of us will ever forget or regret the happy hours spent within its walls3 BERNICE RANDALL PAGE ZZ fi , At., offs , . v y r I F I I V ' , , ' X . , G Y.
