1-5' 02021 FJBSA L I' I' I ' iii ' 'Mighty Monarchs Bounce Back The Monarch football team posted a 5-5 record against opponents that composed one of the most difficult schedules in years. After losing the opening game to Kenton Ridge, Marysville rebounded to defeat Delaware Hayes 10-7 in overtime. The next two weeks saw the Monarchs lose two games in the 4th quarter. Whitehall broke open a game Marysville had controlled for 3 quarters to win 24-7 and Academy hit a 4th and 12 pass for a 50 yard touchdown late in the 4th for the 21-14 Academy win. The following week, the Monarchs dominated Homecoming opponents by posting a 19-14 victory over West Jeff with two 4th quarter touchdowns. The next week, Marysville found the ankle deep mud on the field and 4 inches of water along the sidelines to their liking as Big Walnut was held to a total of- fense of a negative 23 yards and no first downs in an 11-0 Monarch victory. Dublin defeated the Monarchs the next week 7-2 in a defensive struggle. The following week saw Marysville drop a 17-7 decision to London. With the record at 3-5 for the season and 2-3 in the league, Marysville defeated Buckeye Valley at home 9-7 and then travelled to Bexley to finish the season against the league champions who were undefeated in the league until Marysville defeated them in a tough defensive game. 3 CID Football
