SOPHOMORES With our first year of high school behind us, we entered our sophomore year with great expectations and the goal to make the sophomore class recognized as the best of all the M.H.S. classes. Things started off well as several class members got together to construct a float for homecoming at M.H.S. Everyone should remember the Fly to Victory theme with Dumbo soaring over the hopeless foe. Enthusiasm and class spirit continued as the sophomores tackled a series of projects designed to increase the treasury for the prom of 1988. Sophomores definitely led the way in school spirit when the class sponsored Spirit Week during basketball season. First we had everyone who wanted to show their school spirit wear their clothes backwards. Next the enthusiastic sophomores had clash day where all clothes had to clash - the wilder the better. Finally, the week ended with a tradi- tional Red and Blue day to show the spirit that spreads through the halls of M.H.S. All in all the sophomores planted the seed of success for a future that is full of promise.
