H. S. After fumbling with locks and losing themselves in the maze of halls, the class of '52 settled down to the struggle of high school. Out of this struggle developed many things not to be forgotten. For instance, there was the freshman skating party at Club 36, and the sophomore picnic presided over by some very patient sponsors. When our gallant troops, now numbering 98, reached their junior year, they knew the battle was half over. This year saw the class play, Our Miss Brooks, a big moment for junior performers. Then there was the prom with the music of Johnny Cox and his orchestra. The juniors chose Cinderella's Ballroom for the theme. At last 96 seniors reached the last step on the ladder of high school. This year witnessed the Bulldogs winning the NCKL and finishing the season with a fine record. Larry Wall and jim Breeding were elected co-captains. The halftime of the Belle- ville football game saw Laura Griswold chosen football queen. The prom in the spring was another high point in the lives of the seniors. And then it came! The only day that seemed important at all: On May 20, 1952, the class of '52 emerged from M. H. S. as seasoned troops in the battle of high school.
