4.5 Track 2 . i i H W .lp ia A . ii, Y X. xg Q 8 fylbih gi If 5 A 5,4 . , Srgxmggwyk 1, iid, Vg f are Last year's track team had a successful season with six wins and two losses from the eight meets in which they participated. The Bulldogs opened the season with the regular win over Axtell 12754 to 3555. Washington got 8 points in this opening meet. Next to fall victim to the Bulldogs were Manhattan, Junction City, Wamego, and Chapman. The third meet was a quadruple meet that Marysville won by scores of Marysville 91, Concordia 51, Frankfort 24, Blue Rapids 18. Next came the K. U. Relays in which Marysville scored 13 points to take seventh place. The Bulldogs had the usual walk away with the county meet. They outran all other contenders for the NCKL track championship and won by at least thirty points over the closest NCKL track team. Next came the regional meet at Manhattan where the Bulldogs again outscored all the other teams. In the state meet two seniors of '49 placed in individual events to give Marysville 556 points in their last meet. 1-1' V The Bulldogs are looking forward to a better track season this year than they had last year. As of Feb- ruary 6, when this had to be written, they were expecting to have several good relay teams from Lockwood, Wolff, Sohl, Talbot, Noller, Dam, Doug Smith, Bergen, Richardson, and Madden: outstanding individuals in other events will doubtless be Lohse, Miller, Gleue, Keefover, Rowe, Obermeyer and Fakler. The Bulldog track men hope to place among the first at the K. U. Relays and the state meet this year. 48
