The Marysville Chapter of Future Farmers of America with an active membership of 50 boys is a part of the national organiza- tion of more than 300,000 members. Organized for farm boys, it has promoted activities designed to develop rural leadership, create an intelligent choice of farming occupations, encourage cooperative efforts, promote scholarship, establish young men in farming. Opportunities to receive training in attaining these ob- jectives are promoted by agricultural judging events, farm me- chanics contests, public speaking contests, F. F. A. officers leader- ship schools, and individual farming programs completed by vo- cational agriculture students. Farm records completed for 1949 showed a total of 3,233 bushels corn produced, 15,435 pounds of beef, 3,309 pounds of pork, fifteen head of dairy cows and heifers, as major projects by fifty boys. This year's enrollment of fifty boys represents forty-six farm homes scattered in a nine town- ship area surrounding Marysville. F F. A.
