Our school board forms a representative body elected by the citizens for the purpose of considering and acting upon problems of finance, instruction and many other similar matters. Though often confronted by cri- ticism, they create conditions which are desirable for students, instuctors and taxpayers alike. Keeping always in mind the best interests of education, this group gives unselfishly of their time and provides for the commun- ity a school of which it can justly be proud. Our administrators-D. E. Wolgast, superintendent, and R. F. Rowland, principal-carry out the policies of the board, plan for the welfare of the school, and supervise the classroom and extra-curricular activities. To learn through classroom activities, such as those illustrated on the next page, is the purpose of the school. Our classes are guided by the teachers of today, not those of yesterday nor tomorrow. To build strongly for the future, we have activities ln addition to our classrooms-music, clubs, dramatics, athletics. All these needs for progress we have tried to illustrate in this book. That you may enjoy it now, that in the years to come it will bring happy memories of M. H. S. is the sincere wish of the PROGRESS staft. 4
