Spiritual Father . . . Your face is sad, yet not unhappy. The face does not reveal you only the flame of love that leaps within. You do not yield to the real you You deny yourself. Your lips, pinched lips, speak of sacrifice. Your eyes see men . . . They love men. They pity men, but always they see the truth. Veined hands, raised in prayer, lowered in humility, worn in service, open in love . . . Arms outstretched, figure of a cross hurnin g bright on the altar of peace, burning out for Christ, for us. The convent hridled her will and taught her patience, but it could not curh the spirit of an Irish girl with a cheery laugh and a love of life, of people, T' and of God. She was a nun, hut she did not walk in cloistered gardens. She gave to God her ready hands and eager heart.
