Here at Marymount, there is a small family style student body. People are people, not numbers. Our Associated Student Body officers are very unique. Not only are they officers, but they are also friends; friends who are willing to work for and with their student body. Rick Stevenson- 1 st Semester A.S.B. CAM 9RITfc Our Ecology and Environment are very important things in our world today. So, we at Marymount can try to do a little to lielp by saving cur cans, Lotties, empty cigarette boxes and flip tops from cans. This will not make a big difference in our environment, but every little bit helps. Their purpose was to paint the aging buildings of the Toberman Settlement House, located on the corner of 1st and Grand Ave. Working hard a good portion of the morning, the painters man- aged to make great progress into the paint job by noon, when lunch from jack-in-the-Box was served and speedily consumed. The afternoon saw most of the remaining work completed, save only the trim. The remaining trim was painted on the following Saturday by a smaller crew of students. Trim work was also done by students on other students in varying shades of white, beige, and dark brown. All in all, it was a good experience, one which enabled the students to work and play together while accom- plishing something constructive and helpful to the community. 128 J : |iil(2)!i ®ii|®i cA©(il(2 c i«l(2 c M(2 t ®(,l(2; 5 (; ®|i|(aj! cMSdiCS cv®lil(2 : ®ll) 2 iS diKgji = ®M©iM a®hi(2 cMSdl® A®iiia ' ©MS I MSwSV e f ' i ' CsV vOi ' iSV iv®i )®v iv®ii ' i®K ©liiiSV v®! !® iv i ' iSV y®i ' i(sVv ivi®i ' iSiv e ®i i®v iy©i i(3V y®i«i(av iV®l ' l®V e ® l(siv c fSWSV - ' i t a ffwM ' TIHY fJ$ Children are always content in their world. Smiles were carried throughout the entire day, filling the campus with that special Christmas feeling. The dorm council bought a beautiful Christmas tree and decorated it magnificently. The Freshman and Sophomore representatives also wanted to mal e this particular Christmas warm and special and that is just what they did as they got their fellow students to help fulfill their plans. Soon afterwards, furniture was being moved and decorations were being put up both in the lounge and in the cafeteria. The cafeteria was set up with quaint white linen table cloths of red and white along with beautiful handmade centerpieces. All these arrangements were awaiting the presence of students and a spectacular Christmas dinner followed by the Christmas dance in St. Gertrude ' s Lounge. Students who did not attend this semi-formal affair also had a very special Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. jH a ' ,VrS.. The project was a success and everyone came out between classes and bought donuts. Some even invested in buying the mysterious punch - a tropical brew of fruit, soda and nameless palate-pleasers. Outside on the steps, fellows and girls were buying gifts for their honeys- red, pink and white carnations that sparkled with glitter. On Valentine night people gathered in the cafeteria and created a new dance step called the badminton shuffles. Since then it has been quite successful as more interested students have joined. For the students, it has been a learning experience to fashion something with their own hands, as well as giving them an opportunity to express their creativity. It has been enjoyable seeing the many works of the stu- dents, such as shawls, sweaters, knitted caps, scarfs, etc. with tiieir variety of beautiful colors and patterns.
