olvlslon of Social Sclcncc Sister Mary Annette points out economic data to her Social Science students. In our technological age the challenges of human relations have been magnified and intensified. Social experiences, civic, cultural, religious and economic, have become in- creasingly complex. During the first quarter century of its existence, the social science division has contributed to the moral and intellectual de- velopment of Marycrest students by awaken- ing in them the realization of opportunities and responsibilities to further the common good. By developing their knowledge and competence, they are enabled to meet these challenges. SISTER MARY ST. Olvlslon of philosophy ano Rellolon t j' 'WM' ,gndi-an REV. JOHN XVILLIAMS C.S.V. Theology The division of philosophy and theology has for its immediate aim the intellectual develop- ment of the student through discovery and in- vestigation of the Whole realm of natural and supernatural truth. In philosophy the student makes use of human reason to investigate the world of intelligible reality. In theology she uses revelation together with reason to avail herself of what Cod has revealed about Himself and the relationship of creatures to Him. Philosophy and theology should contribute to the total education of a Christian woman by helping her to be intellectually aware of the ultimate meaning of life, of the dignity and responsibility of a Christian as a person and as a member of a natural and supernatural society.
