Most Reverend Ralph Leo Hayes, Bishop of Davenport Father Raymond Roseliep and Mary Ianc Mayhanks. Through twenty-five years of dedication, Marycrest has welcomed celebrities, scholars, and saints. The.se persons have aided in providing the fullness of a liberal arts education for Marycrest students. Those who have known her, who have been an integral part of Marycrest, shall never be without her everlasting contribution of the good, the beautiful, and the truef, the motto given to Marycrest by the late Monsignor Cone. ,-If mf , -1 - : S f I2

TIME has watched the progress of Marycrest, begun in 1939 according to a con.sistent program of planned expansion. One by one the buildings serve as landmarks in the establishment of the college over the past twenty-five years, beginning with the erection of Upham Hall in 1939 to the latest addition of Walsh Hall. There 'were days when Marycrest had only one building, one telephone, one grandfather clock, a hitching post, a lake, one weekly mail delivery, and one resident student. The impressive assemblage of buildings and modern conveniences which comprises Marycrest today stands in dynamic contrast to the original buildings. Marycrest is a young college rapidly achieving recognition as one of the outstanding Catholic liberal arts colleges for women. 11
