meney Stuoemz mmses Introducing the traditional Mercy Nurse: These second-year students of Mercy School of Nursing are unique. This group of nurses was the last of the Mercy nurses to attend Saint Ambrose College during their freshman year. The familiar trek from Marian Hall to Saint Ambrose campus at seven- thirty each morning came to an end. These students had followed the pattem of the Mercy nurses of the previous ten years. And then a change: NVith the inauguration of the new Department of Nursing in Marycrest College in 1963 and the centralization of the Mercy and Saint Ambrose nurs- ing programs on the Marycrest campus, these nurses became a new addition to the Marycrest student body. Attendance at classes on the Marycrest campus, participation in social activities, casting a vote at Student Council meetings . . . these nurses found a warm Welcome from their new sisters N o problems now . . . There's always a nurse around. A solemn and inspiring occasion-Capping.
