Man has sun ' ived even ' thing, and we have only survived it on our optimism, and optimism means faith in ourselves, faith in the ever ' dayness of our lives, faith in our universal qualities, and above all, faith in love. — Edward Steichen There were several people who have served MWC dili- gently for years to whom I could dedicate this anniversary volume. I decided, however, to dedicate it to someone who does and will serve her college, her Lord, and her fellow man. Bobbi Rollins is the spirit of Mary Washington College. She embodies the strength, the drive, the faith, love, and hope that I feel our school stands for. Bobbi is an inspiration to us all — all of us who are tired of life; angry at our neighbor; or unwilling to continue. Bobbi, we need you, we love you, and we thank you for touching our lives. 20
