The New Fanners of America is a national organization of boys studying vocational agriculture in public secondary schools. The organization has continued to develop rapidly. On June 30, 1961 the active membership totaled 53,259 in 1,250 chapters in 15 states. The primary aim of the New Farmers of America organization is the development of agricultural leadership, cooperation, citizenship, and patriotism. Our annual activities are (1) to sponsor a chapel program (2) to sponsor our annual Parents-Son Ban- quet (3) to participate in the Future Farmers Foundation contests and (4) to support the N.F.A. camp project. VARSITY CLUB The purpose of the club is to afford many opportunities in the areas of Leadership, Fellow- ship, Sportsmanship, and Character. Membership requires recommendation by coaches who are the advisors and two-thirds acceptance by present members. Officers 1962-63: John Fuller, President; Robert Webb, Vice-President; Calvin Gregory, Secretary; Eugene Fields, Treasurer; James Davis, Reporter; Garland Witherspoon, Chaplain. Advisor Mr. H. J. Drew THE CHEERLEADERS The purpose of the cheerleaders is to aid our teams to victory. They serve as leaders for the student body.
