LEWIS N. WALDROP Mercer University M.A. PRINCIPAL The world is watching us to see if we can meet the challenge of today. Much will de- pend upon the wisdom of those whom we choose as our leaders. But our future cannot be made safe by our leaders alone--the fu- ture is in the hands of each of us as individ- uals. Is it possible for an individual to hin- der the growth of his country? I believe that it is. We hear a great deal today about our rights, --political, civil, and religious, -- but we hear little about our duties or obliga- tions. These rights can be ours only if we accept the responsibilities that go with them. Let us remember then, that we as individ- uals enjoy our political, civil, and religious rights, but our obligations are as great as our rights. 477.654
