Sister Rose Margaret, Ph.D. Sister Mary Bonaventure, Ph.D. Department Chairman English Olive McHugh, A.M. English English Frederick Kellermeier, A.M. Literature Three new faculty members, Sister Mary Bonaventure, O.S.F., Miss Olive McHugh, and Miss Mary Sue Deisher, have contributed this year to the progress being made in the English Department under the chairmanship of Sister Rose Margaret. Five upper-division courses of- forded maiors and minors a greater choice of electives in their respective programs: The Modern Novel, Modern Drama, Victorian Literature, Shakespeare, and Milton. The Coordinating Seminar took a new form this year under the direction of Mr. Francis Yezbick. Each seminar focused on a single topic, such as literary criticism, naturalism in litera- ture, and theories of comedy and tragedy. Maiors and minors in English took comprehensive examinations in February as a part of the new pro- gram initiated two years ago. These seniors, the first to graduate under the new program, are confident that they have been well prepared for their chosen careers through the effort of a dynamic department. Mary Sue Deisher, A.M.
