Certification can be trans- ferred to other states. Courses in liberal arts and in the professional subiects are maintained in the teacher prepa- ration. Student teaching in the Toledo area schools during the senior year, allows the young teacher to apply her knowledge of the theories and procedures she learned during her training. The Psychology Department provides an opportunity to major or minor in preparation for a career in psychology or sociology as well as education. Students can gain under-graduote experience in applied psychology, in the child guidance services, and in special education. Opportunities for training in remedial reading in the campus Reading Center are available for those who request it. A guidance service supervises the administration of tests, and gives students the opportunity to secure faculty counseling. 33

Sister Mary Georgianna, A.M. Sister June Catherine, M.A.E. Fine Arts Fine Arts Fine Arts The Department of Fine Arts offered notable opportunities for the study and appreciation of art. These opportunities were enhanced by the proximity of Toledo's magnificent museum. A wide variety of studio classes challenged the creative expression of the art students. The annual uArt Show held near the culmination of the school year establishes a visual dialogue between art students and their classmates, their parents and their friends. This dialogue strengthened the rapport between students, college, art, and society. Under the direction of Sister Mary Charles, the Speech and Drama division of the Fine Arts Department at Mary Manse has grown in size in the last three years. With courses in Platform Speaking, Speech Correction, Drama, Play Production, Television, and Radio, the Division has given its students an opportunity to develop their talents and broaden their experience in the world of speech and drama.
