Resident Students Mary Manse Resident Students spent their first year in the new Lourdes Hall. Everyone arrived with great anticipation. With the new building, a new system of student floor counselors was intro- duced. One hundred eighty-eight students lived on campus. Activities for the year began in September with a get-acquainted picnic. In December, St. Nicholas filled the girls' shoes with goodies. Instead of having the annual gift exchange in the dorm, the girls gave donations to buy a basket for the poor. While in the festive spirit, everyone enjoyed the Christmas formal dinner highlighted by the prize cooking of Sister Monica. It was followed by a carolling and hot chocolate get-together. Spring brought the final im- portant event, the May formal dinner honoring the seniors. To make the year complete, the last Weeks were filled with class activities and the busy days of packing.
