Speech Department Speech recording assists students to- ward speech improvement. This year the Speech and Drama Department at Mary Manse has been en- larged and it is now possible to obtain a major or minor in the Speech Arts. Mother Charles, head of the department, has introduced, among many other courses, a course in Speech Correction. This course is of interest to those who expect to minor in Corrective Speech or Speech and Hearing. The Drama Department has a weekly program on WTOL Radio entitled: Mary Mame Presents . . . The newly formed Drama Club has presented several one act plays. Faculty members hope that the new department will benefit the entire college. Sister Mary Charles marks the progress of her students in speech. 60

Student Council Members of the 1964-1965 Student Council found themselves engrossed in many activities. Many changes were made on the campus this year. The Mary Manse Student Handbook was revised and new activity cards were distributed. One major change was the election methods for Student Council of- ficers. Self-nomination, campaigning and petition signing are few of the elements of the new pro- cedure.
