I NFULGENS CORONA' TF Under their guidance the Fathers' Club flourishes. Fathers' Club Officers, 1953-1954: Albert Teale, William Sheehan, James Carroll, Reverend Owen Doyle, C.P., John J. Giba, Gerald Paul. The i953-54 school year completed a decade of fine service rendered by the Fathers' Club of The Mary Louis Academy. At every evening function of the school, this organization of fond fathers can be seen giving its help and support wherever it is needed. The season was marked by several joint efforts with the Ladies' Auxiliary. Together they sponsored a Card Party which was a huge success. ln their joint meetings they had The Mary Louis Debaters, Father Bernadine Gorman, C.P., who gave an enlightening speech about Our Lady of Fatima, and a gay St. Patrick's Party and Dance. Their closed meetings were highlighted by Sister Mary Borgia who discussed the school curriculum, F.B.l. agent Anthony O'Donnell, a sports film, Captain Campion of the New York Police Pickpocket Squad, and Past Presidents' Nite. ln February, the Fathers' Club sponsored a public lecture by Father Mernard Hubbard. The busy season was brought to a close by the ever-popular Father-Daughter Communion Breakfast, which, as usual, was a huge success. The Fathers' Club donated one of the new wood carvings for the auditorium and also the Sister Lumena Memorial Award given for proficiency in Religion each year at Commencement. .OFFICERS JOHN J. One of the first social events of the season was a Fashion Show held at the Academy. This annual event has always proved to be very enjoyable. At the Christmas Party given for the Faculty, the Peanuts from St. John's Home in Rockaway, entertained with their singing. ln May, a Luncheon and Card Party was held at the Garden City Hotel, to raise funds for the St. Josephs' Scholarships. A Silver Tea given in June, in honor of the Faculty, marked the end of a very happy season for the Ladies' Auxiliary. OFFICERS FOR 1953-1954 MRS. JOHN J. GIBA President MRS.
